27 April 2007At SeaAnd so we begin another day "at sea". Today we will sail Northward all day long, out of Greek waters, past Albanian and back in the Adriatic Sea. Some joggers are up on the jogging track for an early morning run. Down below on the Promenade Deck they are hosting the "On The Deck For The Cure" walk for cancer research, so there are many walkers doing laps. As was the case on this trip's first "at sea" day, guest chef Michael Symon is hosting another cooking demonstration. Today's recipes were Mahi Mahi with Escarole and Lemon and Zuppe di Pesce. We all go up after the demonstration to sample what he's cooked for us. Michael Symon signs some autographs after the demonstration. For those who are interested I again include the recipes for future reference. Judging from the cloud cover this morning I would have guessed that today wouldn't be very sunny, but by afternoon the sun is out in full force as we enjoy a snack at the Lido Pool. "At Sea" days are a perfect chance to enjoy lunch in the dining room instead of the Lido Restaurant buffet line. What you see here was perhaps the most spectacular dish I ate on the entire trip. It doesn't look like much but this is Watermelon Gazpacho and it was absolutely incredible. And yes, once again I get the meat as a main dish, of course. Fast forward over the whole day of relaxing once again and we go straight to the sunset photos. As usual I don't have much to say about the sunset, so talk to you later. Pretty spectacular colour, don't you think? This photo is supposed to show how amazing it looked reflected off the water. As you can see I am not the only one out here enjoying the sunset colours. The ship is bathed in a purple glow. And with that the day comes to an end. Pretty short photo days, aren't these? |
